In a tense Premier League match between Southampton and Bournemouth at the St Mary's Stadium, it was Bournemouth who emerged victorious with a 1-0 win. The first half was tense and evenly contested, with neither team able to take the lead before half-time. Southampton made a substitution on 36 minutes with R. Perrot in place of A. Maitland-Niles. Tavernier was replaced by A. Smith in the 79th minute and M. Vina was yellow-carded in the 86th minute. In the 89th minute, Southampton were denied a goal due to offside, denying them a chance to level the score. Bournemouth made two more substitutions in the final minutes of the game, releasing P. Billings in place of D. Ouattara and D. Solanke in place of K. Moore in the 90th minute. In the end, Bournemouth won the game thanks to Tavernier's goal early in the second half. The match was a tense encounter between two equally strong teams. Southampton will regret the chances they missed and try to get back into the game while Bournemouth will be looking to consolidate the result and move up the Premier League table.
