Kovalivka hosted Shakhtar Donetsk at the Kovalivka Stadium in a Premier League match, and it was a thrilling game from start to finish. At half-time, Kolos were 1-0 up, but in the second half Shakhtar Donetsk took the lead after scoring three goals and claiming a 1-3 win. The first goal of the match came on 13 minutes when Kolos Kovalivka's P. Orykhovskyi headed it into the net. This goal set the tone for a fierce battle between the two teams, with both sides having plenty of opportunities to score. After the break, Shakhtar made two substitutions, with N. Dzhurasek and Gocholeishvili instead of Zubkov and Konoplya respectively. This proved to be crucial as it breathed new life into the attack. On 47 minutes, Shakhtar Donetsk were awarded a penalty-kick which was wonderfully converted by Alexander Bondarenko to level the score at 1-1. After a few minutes, Traore gave Shakhtar the lead on 52 minutes thanks to a fantastic goal. This goal was quickly followed by a yellow card for Yuriy Volynets of Kolos Kovalivka.
Kovalivka kept pushing forward, but struggled to penetrate Shakhtar Donetsk's defence. In the 64th minute, a yellow card was given to A. Bogdanov, and the hosts made two substitutions, with R. Goncharenko and Lysenko. In the 73rd minute, Shakhtar Donetsk made a third substitution, substituting Shved with Anatoliy Totovitskiy. Totovitskiy. Mykhailychenko. The match ended 1-3 in favour of Shakhtar Donetsk who showed a great team play and determination in the second half. Kolos Kovalivka put up a decent fight but ultimately failed to hold on to their lead. Shakhtar Donetsk's win enables them to climb up the Premier League table, while Kolos Kovalivka will be looking to bounce back in the coming games.
