Honoured Coach of Ukraine Myron Markevych responded to Yuriy Vernydub, who had previously criticised Myron Bohdanovych's methods of work at the UAF.
Myron Markevych- I don't know what we are talking about. I don't think it was like that, and that no one listened. The majority were in favour of Rotan being the head coach, and that was the wish of the head coach of Shevchenko's national team, first of all. And given that the head coach is responsible for the result, we went along with it. That's the whole "cheese fight".
Vernydub's complaints about the refereeing? This needs to be curbed a bit. If we allow this to happen, it's wrong. And the judges have to keep their pride or something. I understand everything - I'm not without fault myself, and I could have said something, as they say. But this is already a bit of a part of the system, and it has to be stopped. To be honest, they wouldn't even talk about it abroad.
You know, everyone who doesn't win is always unhappy. We already have some pressure on the referees. A footballer falls down, shouts, and the whistle is blown. No one thinks about whether there was a foul or not. You have to fall down and shout loudly, that's all. This slows down the game, and our football is already, as they say, walking, and with the constant whistles, there is no dynamics," Markevich said.
