Obolon president: "Karpaty came with their referees"

Another refereeing scandal in Ukrainian football. This time, the focus was on the match in round 4 of the first league champion group between Kyiv Obolon and Lviv's Karpaty (1-2), who are competitors for promotion to the Premier League.

The decisive goal in this match was scored in the 11th minute. In addition, the Kyiv team played the game with ten men. After the end of the match Obolon president Oleksandr Slobodian accused that the referees were biased.

"In the first half the officiating was more or less objective. But after the break it became clear that the referees were biased against Obolon. Our team's player Taras Moroz had a yellow card, and the referees began to "catch" him for violation in order to show him a second yellow card and send him off. And so it happened.

Playing with ten men against 12 is hard enough. We were happy with a draw. But we got a goal in the 11th minute of the second half. And this despite the fact that the referee only gave 7 minutes to make an equaliser. That's the answer to why "Obolon" lost. "Karpaty came to this match with their referees who did not let us play", - said Slobodian.
