Referee who made a mistake in Borussia Dortmund's match in favour of Bayern: "I feel lousy".

Referee Sascha Stegemann, who officiated at round 30 of the German championship match Bochum v Borussia D (1-1), admitted that he had grossly erred at the end of the game by not awarding a penalty to the home side.

- I reviewed the episode. Adeyemi was a penalty for Borussia. I did not see the episode in full when I was on the pitch. The defender was moving at high speed and I was sure Adeyemi put his foot in first. Of course, the video assistant was reviewing the episode, he gave his assessment. He didn't think I'd made a clear mistake, so I wasn't advised to study the replay myself.

- Could you have gone to the monitor yourself?

- Yes, if I had doubts about the decision. But on the pitch I had no doubts. Looking back, I can say: I would have been happy if I had watched the replay. Of course, I always want to make the right decisions, to correctly assess episodes. I am very annoyed, I feel lousy. I had very little sleep last night, I do not feel good.

It should be noted that Bayern can take advantage of Borussia D's defeat on Sunday to top the standings if they beat Hertha.
