On 30 April, one of the matches of the 32nd round of the Spanish football championship took place. Valladolid (Spain) and Atletico (Madrid) met.

In the much-anticipated match between Valladolid and Atletico Madrid, the Estadio Municipal José Zorrilla stadium provided ideal conditions for an exciting La Liga encounter. At half-time, Atletico Madrid led 3-1 and by the end of the match, Atletico Madrid were confidently winning 5-2. The match started with both teams looking to put their own spin on the game; however, Valladolid player Monchu was yellow carded in the ninth minute. Atletico Madrid took advantage of the situation, with N. Molina scoring in the 20th minute, giving the visiting team the lead. That advantage was quickly increased thanks to a J.M. Gimenez goal in the 24th minute, followed by an A. Morata in the 38th minute. In the 42nd minute, a penalty kick was awarded to Valladolid, and K. Larin took advantage of the situation, cutting the deficit to 3-1.
The first half ended with yellow cards for Valladolid's K Perez and Atletico Madrid's M. Hermoso. In the second half, Valladolid substituted I. Fresneda in place of S. Escudero and I. Sanchez in place of C. Perez in the 60th minute. Atletico Madrid brought on T. Lemar in place of G. Kondogbia and A. Correa in place of A. Morata in the 67th minute. The change seemed to go in Valladolid's favour as they scored their second goal in the 74th minute through the efforts of S. Escudero. Atletico Madrid were quick to react, with I. Carrasco coming on in place of M. Depay and Coque being replaced by S. Niguez in the 79th minute. Shortly before the end of the match, an own goal by Atletico Madrid's J. Fernandez in the 86th minute brought Valladolid a second goal. However, Atletico Madrid remained in the lead with a goal from M. Depay in the final minute of the match. Overall, Atletico Madrid produced an impressive performance, showing why they are one of the best teams in La Liga. Valladolid, on the other hand, will be looking to improve their position and bounce back in the next game.
