Former Ukraine national team midfielder Yevhen Levchenko commented on the news of the death of former Ukrainian footballer Yuriy Petrov, who defended the colours of Dnipro, Valwijk, Twente and Metalist.
"Died Yura Petrov. 48 years old. He came to the Netherlands 1-2 years earlier than me. He was a talented footballer. I remember a lot of funny and not so funny situations. We weren't friends, but we occasionally met up and played snooker or American. He drank, he drank a lot, non-stop, morning, noon, night... he was unhappy and a lot of people around him were suffering too. I really hope that his soul has found peace," Levchenko wrote on his Twitter page.
