Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara will not play this season due to a thigh injury, The Athletic reports.
The 32-year-old has recently returned to the Merseysiders' general game after two months of absence. However, the previous thigh injury does not allow him to demonstrate his potential at 100 per cent, and the player is still concerned about muscle discomfort. As a result, Liverpool decided to send Thiago for surgery. After the surgery, the midfielder will not be able to play for the rest of this season.
In the current EPL campaign, Alcantara has played 18 matches for Liverpool, but without any results.
