On the last day of April, the capital's City of Sport hosted the traditional monthly FUTCHESS tournament - Football + Chess. Four teams took part in the fifth unique competition. The soccer format included 6×6 matches of 30 minutes of net time. Five players from each team played chess.
The peculiarity of this tournament was that the number of chess boards increased from the first tournament - this time there were five. In addition, the level of players was much higher, which indicates that the tournament has reached a qualitatively new level. A number of players with the first chess rating took part in the competition, as well as experienced players. The tournament is growing intellectually and it is safe to say that this format has a future.
Roman Kifliuk, a member of the Presidium of the Kyiv Chess Federation, played in the tournament as part of the winning Maxteam team. It was interesting to play against the Candidate for Master of Sports for other participants who have less experience but are eager to make progress.
For the first time, the FUTCHESS FC club team took part in the tournament. The members of this team were only 20-22 years old, but they won all the football matches and took second place in chess.
"The main goal of creating the Football + Chess tournament is to add intelligence to football through the game of chess. I am very glad that this project was born in Ukraine! Right now! For the first time in the history of mankind! And this is only the first step in a very large-scale project: The Birth of Our Nation," says the author of the project, Ihor Biryuchenskyi.
The project is starting to move towards attracting young football players to the world of intelligence with the prospect of creating children's and youth FUTCHESS tournaments.
We invite interested children's football coaches, club managers, parents of football players, media representatives, and investors to join the project!
