Today, May 4, the programme for round 24 of the Ukrainian championship continued. In one of the matches, Vorskla Poltava and Dynamo Kyiv met.

The central match of the matchday fully met all expectations! From the start the teams got a good pace, showing that no one is going to just sit in defence and wait for their moment. And literally, in the opening of the meeting, "Vorskla" managed to open the scoring: after a long pass to the penalty area, Kane received the ball and gave the ball to Stepaniuk. Poltava forward went one on one with Nesheret, calmly hammered into the bottom corner of the goal - 1:0.
It goes without saying that this scenario was not to the liking of Oleksandr Shovkovskiy's charges. Butalskyi and company immediately responded with a goal of their own: after a quick combination, Vitaliy found himself in the middle of the penalty area near "Vorskla" and decided to kick - the ball flew near the bar to Isenko. Having rushed to the attack, the Bilo-Syni nearly missed the second goal: Seferi shot from a tight angle - straight into the top corner, but Nesheret saved his team, parry the ball in a brilliant move.
The Dynamo players did not think to stop and by the middle of the first half they managed to level the score! Having received a pass from Buyalskiy, Vanat ventured to take a long-range effort from twenty meters - and he made it - the ball flew just into the far corner of the net - 1:1!
However, this missed goal did not really affect the attitude of the Poltavians, who continued to attack. On 35 minutes, Nesheret rescued Dynamo, who won one-on-one with Kane. But that was not all: in the final minutes of the first half Vorskla failed to capitalize on another one hundred percent chance - after a cross from the right flank into the net, Sklyar managed to miss on the goal from one meter. Such a game in defense clearly did not please Shovkovs'kyi...
That is why the Kyiv side started the second half very strongly forcing the opponents to move closer to their goal. On 48 minutes, this brought the result: Benito seized on Isenko's unsure display, and on the second attempt from close range sent the ball into the net - 1:2.
This success only boosted the Bilo-Syni's confidence as they went on to play first. It should be particularly noted Dynamo's high pressing - due to their high intensity in front, Viktor Skrypnyk's charges were often losing the ball in their half. The hosts in the second half noticeably lacked the last accurate pass.
Benito put an end to all questions about the winner in the 65th minute of the game. The midfielder, having used the empty space in the centre of the pitch, ran away from his opponents from midfield, but made an unsuccessful shot in the closing stages - the ball flew over both Isenko and the net.
As the game neared its end, Dinamo played more pragmatically. After a number of substitutions our team kept control of the game, but there were almost no quick attacks as the scoreline perfectly suited the Bilo-Syni. And when only 10 minutes remained before the match was over, Poltava raised the air-raid alert and, accordingly, the game was suspended. We had to wait for just over half an hour - after the meeting resumption Vorskla tried to level the score, but Dynamo managed to win. As a result, the Bilo-Syni got another important three points.
It must be recalled Dynamo will play the next game of the championship of Ukraine on May 8. Oleksandr Shovkovskiy's team will face Kryvbas. The kickoff time is 13:00.
