The commercial director of Dnipro-1, Vyacheslav Fridman, has responded to rumours that his club is engaged in financial incentives for other clubs in the UPL - in their games against Shakhtar Donetsk, Dnipro's rival for the championship.
Vyacheslav Fridman, photo: sport.ua- We hear that the clubs we play against are incentivized by Shakhtar. To be honest, even I have been approached personally and Rusol, including the clubs who will play Shakhtar. But I can give you a 100% guarantee that we have never stimulated any club.
Maybe we will apply it, if we come close to Shakhtar in the last round. Shakhtar will have an away game with Vorskla. I do not rule out that we will resort to such a method. But the fact that we have never stimulated anyone - that's for sure.
Although some clubs from the bottom of the standings approached us with such proposals, saying, "Just encourage us". To which we replied: "Look at the points you`ve earned. Why should we stimulate you further when you have to survive on your own?" said Fridman.
