During the 31st round of the German championship match between Bayer and Cologne (1-2), fans staged an unconventional protest by throwing tennis balls onto the pitch.
This happened early in the second half. The game was suspended for some time. Then the stadium staff removed all the tennis balls from the pitch and the match resumed.
It turned out that this was a protest by the Cologne fans against postponing the game to Friday.
