Overview of the match Man City v Leeds:

Manchester City claimed a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Leeds at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League. The hosts dominated the first half, two goals from midfielder Ilkay Gundogan giving them a comfortable lead at the break. However, Leeds showed resilience in the second half and fought back, making the final tense. The game started brightly for Manchester City with Gundogan opening the scoring in the 19th minute. He picked up the ball outside the box, shot from his left foot and flicked a low shot past the Leeds goalkeeper. Gundogan doubled his tally in the 27th minute, completing a swift counterattack with a left-footed shot. Leeds tried hard to get back into the game and almost got back into the game in the 34th minute after Rodrigo hit the post. However, a yellow card received by striker V. Gnonto shortly before the break meant that Leeds would be in trouble in the second half. Manchester City made changes at half-time, replacing Nathan Ake with Kyle Walker.

Leeds also made changes, releasing Rodrigo in place of Gnonto in the 58th minute and Michel Roca in place of Sam Greenwood in the 59th minute. The changes seemed to go in Leeds' favour as they started to go forward more aggressively. Leeds got their reward in the 85th minute when Rodrigo scored, making the score 2-1. However, Manchester City had a chance to increase their lead in the 84th minute after a penalty was awarded. Unfortunately for them, Gundogan's shot was saved, leading to a nervy end to the game. Both teams made changes in the final minutes of the match. Manchester City replaced J. Alvarez with Bernardo Silva in the 87th minute, while Leeds replaced Patrick Bamford with Brenden Aaronson and Pascal Struyk with Adam Forshaw in the 80th minute. The match ended 2-1 in favour of Manchester City, much to the relief of their fans. Leeds can take some positives from their performance, especially in the second half. They showed character and resilience, and if they continue to play like that, they could create problems for many Premier League teams this season.

The next round of fixtures will see Everton v Man City and Leeds v Newcastle.
