The long-awaited Bundesliga match between Werder Bremen and Bayern Munich ended in a 1-2 victory for the latter. Nevertheless, it was an intense game in which both teams battled hard. The first half of the game was largely uneventful, with neither team managing to score a goal. However, a number of yellow cards were handed out: warnings were given to J. Canselo of Bayern. However, a couple of yellow cards were awarded: Jorge Cancelo (Bayern Munich), Andreas Pieper and Michael Friedl (Werder). At the beginning of the second half, Werder Bremen made a substitution, replacing A. Pieper with M. Veljkovic. However, Bayern struck first: on 62 minutes, S. Gnabry got on the scoresheet. Then, Bayern made two quick substitutions: K. Koman and R. Gravenberch took the place of L. Sane and T. Müller respectively.
In the 72nd minute, Bayern scored their second goal of the match. Werder Bremen then made three quick substitutions, releasing K. Gross, A. Jung and M. Daksha in place of I. Gruev, L. Buchanan and M. Philippe respectively. Later, they made a fifth substitution: L. Bittenkort came on instead of N. Schmidt. Despite being down by two goals, Werder Bremen kept fighting hard and managed to score in the 87th minute thanks to N. Schmidt. Schmidt. Bayern then made one last substitution, replacing S. Mane in the 88th minute. Mane was replaced by B. Sarrah. Although Werder Bremen managed to score late in the game, it was too little and the match ended in a victory for Bayern. The match took place at the Wohninvest WESERSTADION and witnessed some spectacular football action between two of the Bundesliga's top teams.
