Marseille midfielder Dimitri Payet could face a long-term ban, L'Equipe reports.
According to the source, during the 35th round of Ligue 1 match against Lens, Dimitri Payet slapped one of the opposing coaches. It all started when Lens defender Facundo Medina deliberately kicked the ball towards the Marseille bench. This was followed by a scuffle, during which Dimitri Payet slapped one of Frank Eze's assistants. Chief referee Clement Turpin did not see this moment, but this episode will not go unnoticed by the disciplinary commission.
It will be recalled that Marseille is represented by Ukrainian Ruslan Malinowski, who joined the Provencal side in the winter of 2023.
