Reims tried to get back into the game but failed to equalise despite several chances. As the game entered the closing stages, both teams made a number of substitutions to try and change the game. Lens replaced M. Haidara with D. Machado and Reims replaced A. Flips with A. Zenneli and C. Serhuis for A. Matusiva. As a result, Lens defeated Reims in a hard-fought 2-1 win. Thanks to this win, Lens moved up in the Ligue 1 table, while Reims will be disappointed to have lost such a tight match.
