Manchester United picked up an important home win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League at Old Trafford. The home side dominated the match and eventually took a 2-0 lead. The game started with great intensity, and both teams showed their attacking intentions early on. However, it was the Wolves who made the first mistake when D. Costa was given a yellow card in the 15th minute for a rude attack. Manchester United took the lead in the 32nd minute when A. Marcial scored thanks to a brilliant pass from his teammate. The team did not rest on their laurels and continued to press the visitors, but this led to a yellow card for Casemiro in the 36th minute. At the start of the second half, Wolves made their first substitution with P. Neto coming on in place of Hwang Hee Chan in the 46th minute. It was a good move on the manager's part, but it did not bring the desired result.
The Manchester United manager made his first substitution in the 69th minute when A. Marcial was substituted for W. Weghorst. It was a wise decision and soon afterwards the Wolves made three more substitutions in succession - M. Cunha replaced D. Podense, Toti replaced J. Bueno and M. Lemina replaced A. Traore. The hosts responded with a flurry of substitutions of their own - R. Varane for H. Maguire, K. Eriksen for Freda, J. Sancho for A. Garnacha, and hoped for a positive result. The match was nearing completion when Wolves defender K. Dawson received a yellow card in the 88th minute. It looked as though the game would end with a 1-0 score, but Manchester United managed to score their second goal before the final whistle. The goal was scored by A. Garnacho, but he was sent off after receiving a yellow card for celebrating too much. The Manchester United players celebrated with a hard-fought victory, knowing that the three points gained would boost their chances of winning the Premier League. The match at Old Trafford was a demonstration of their strength and determination and if they continue in the same vein, they could end the season with the biggest prize in English football.
