On 13 May, one of the matches of the 35th round of the Italian football championship took place. Inter (Milan) and Sassuolo (Italy) met.

The Serie A football match between Inter and Sassuolo at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza was an exciting encounter as both teams showed their attacking intentions. Inter were 1-0 up at half-time but Sassuolo tried to level the scores but, ultimately, Inter won 4-2. The game got off to a busy start, with Sassuolo's goal being cancelled out on 11 minutes due to an offside catch by Giuseppe Berardi. Both teams kept up the pressure, but in the 30th minute, Sassuolo's G. Defrell was given a yellow card. Inter took the lead just before half-time when R. Lukaku netted a 41st-minute equaliser. Sassuolo continued to cause problems for Inter with R. Tressoldi receiving a yellow card in the 42nd minute. Inter started the second half with the substitution of J. Correa in place of L Martinez. However, unintentional misfortune befell Inter when R. Tressoldi scored an own goal in the 55th minute. In an attempt to change the outcome of the game, Sassuolo made two substitutions in the 57th minute: G. Defrel replaced A. Pinamonti and A. Lorente replaced N. Bayrami. However, their efforts were unsuccessful - L Martinez netted on 58 minutes.
Inter inter intercepted the initiative with two substitutions in the 61st minute: H. Mkhitaryan and F. Dimarco were replaced by C. Aslani and R. Gossens respectively. Sassuolo responded with a Mateus Henrique goal in the 63rd minute to make it 3-2. Sassuolo made another substitution: in the 64th minute, R. Tressoldi was replaced by G. M. Ferrari. Unfortunately, in the 66th minute, Matheus Henrique was given a yellow card. Inter's S. de Vrij also received a yellow card in the 70th minute and was replaced by A. Bastoni in the 73rd minute. With the game still in the balance, Sassuolo introduced J. Toljana and K. Thorstvedt in place of N. Zortea and Mateus Henrique respectively. D. Frattesi scored for Sassuolo in the 77th minute to give them a chance to equalise. Inter made one last substitution, producing R. Bellanova in place of M. Darmian in the 79th minute. As the game entered the closing stages, M. Brozovic received a yellow card for Inter in the 84th minute. However, in the final minutes of the game, R. Lukaku scored his second goal in the 89th minute to seal Inter's 4-2 victory. It was an entertaining match between two teams who showed their prowess in attack and the result ensured Inter remain in the top four in the Serie A table.
