"Mykolenko may miss 3-4 weeks" - sports doctor

Dmytro Babeliuk, a sports doctor known for his work with Rukh Lviv, commented on the injury to Ukrainian Everton defender Vitaliy Mykolenko, who missed today's match against Manchester City.

Vitaly Nikolenko

"Mykolenko misses Everton's match due to injury. According to the club's official reports, Vitaliy has been diagnosed with a minor thigh strain, i.e. a minor injury to the muscles of the front of the thigh. This is the quadriceps muscle of the thigh, as other areas are referred to by terms such as "hamstring" for the back of the thigh or "adductor" for the adductor muscles.

It is not yet clear how severe the injury is. Given the mid-season and a quiet calendar, Vitali would definitely be allowed to heal even a minor injury in peace and would be given 3-4 weeks to do so. Instead, in the case of a fight for survival and a limited number of games, such injuries will be managed gradually. The player's condition will be checked daily and training will be modified. It is even possible that a player will only participate in the pre-game training session and then take part in the game. In such cases, a lot of emphasis is placed on recovery, soft tissue work, therapy in water with different temperatures, cryocompression and light loads in the gym," Babeliuk wrote on Telegram.

Щось наші англійські легіонери починають травмуватися один за одним, бажаю Миколенко відновитися до матчів збірних.
