Column by Sergiy Tyshchenko. The fifth victory in a row. How Dynamo's youth team sets an example for its senior partners

In the last match of the youth championship, Dynamo narrowly defeated Chornomorets 1-0 thanks to a goal by Sasha Yatsyk. This is the fifth consecutive victory for Ihor Kostiuk's team. The last time Dynamo lost points was in the match against Rukh, when they failed to convert a 0-0 draw. In total, they have only two draws in the second part of the season. Before that, they shared points with Dnipro-1 - 1-1.

Rukh's chances of winning the championship this season are minimal. With 4 rounds remaining, Rukh is 5 points ahead of Dynamo. In the last round, the Lviv team snatched a victory from Kryvbas in the last minutes. Now they need to lose twice or draw three times in 4 matches. This seems unlikely.

Back in the winter, it was clear that the chances of competing for gold were not that great. In the spring, it was already plus 7 in favour of Rukh. When the Lviv team beat Shakhtar, pushed Zorya to the limit in Kyiv and didn't lose to Dynamo, it became clear that they would not be able to lose first place.

But this did not affect the Dynamo youth team. They don't give up and come out to win every match. Because they are Dynamo. This team cannot play for victory at any level. The coaching staff does a great job of motivating the players to keep going. Because victories are also the progress of young players. The victories over Metalist in Uzhhorod and Kryvbas in Kryvyi Rih were not easy. We won against Vorskla, despite being 0-3 down after the first half. All these matches required strong-willedness and the ability to pull out a result by the skin of your teeth.

As you can imagine, Dynamo's youth team has a lot of problems. In the spring, Samba Diallo was more in the national team than the club. Anton Tsarenko is already a first-team player. Minus two key and leading players. Yatsyk was injured for two weeks. The main striker, Ihor Horbach, can't seem to figure himself out. In general, 2004 was not particularly pleasing in terms of talent. The year 2005 is already starting to play. These are 17-18 year olds. Zorya are currently playing in 2006. They don't have a great choice of players. Those who were not picked up by the first team and those who were trained by the Academy - all the personnel potential.

The first team also has its problems. With all the winter losses, the squad is hardly worse than Zorya's or Dnipro-1's. There was no five-match winning streak this season and there will be none. Only one strong-willed victory. As a result, a fair fourth place...
