A new graffiti dedicated to Oleksandr 'Gryan' Gryanyk, a Dynamo fan who died on 8 May 2022 while defending Mariupol, has appeared in the capital.
Oleksandr's father and Dynamo captain Serhii Sydorchuk took part in the creation of the mural.
Oleksandr Hryanyk was a participant in the Euromaidan and served in the Azov Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine from 2016. In January 2022, he resigned from the service and took up photography. However, with the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he returned to the front. He participated in the battles for Bucha, Irpin and Hostomel as a volunteer. On 27 March 2022, he voluntarily flew by helicopter to Mariupol to help the besieged military, but the route was declassified by the occupiers and the helicopter was shot down. He miraculously made his way to Azovstal and delivered Starlink.
He died on 8 May 2022 as a result of a bomb falling at Azovstal during the defence of Mariupol.
Слава Герою!
