The game ended in a draw, with both teams scoring hard-fought points. Overall, the match between Sampdoria and Empoli was tense, competitive and physical. A total of eight yellow cards were handed out and it was clear that both teams had their hands full. Although Sampdoria grabbed the lead early in the game, Empoli refused to give up, scoring the decisive goal in the final minutes to retain the point. It was a match that reminded fans why football is such an exciting and unpredictable sport.
