Jones struck again, doubling Liverpool's lead and putting a lot of pressure on Leicester. Leicester tried to get back into the game but Liverpool's defence was too strong. In the 53rd minute, Leicester player R. Pereira received a yellow card, which increased the pressure on the home side. Soon after, Leicester made the first substitution in the match: U. Ndidi replaced P. Dak and H. Barnes replaced Tete.
Despite the substitutions, Liverpool continued to dominate the pitch. On 71 minutes, T. Alexander-Arnold scored another goal to give Liverpool a 3-0 lead. In an attempt to change the line-up, Liverpool made three substitutions: L. Diaz came on in place of Diogo Jota and J. Henderson replaced J. Milner. K Jones then gave way to Carvalho. Towards the end of the game, in the 86th minute, Liverpool's I. Konate was given a yellow card. Liverpool made one last substitution: M. Salah came on instead of H. Elliott. Leicester also made a substitution: in the 89th minute J. Evans replaced H. Souttar. In added time, Leicester player L. Thomas was given a yellow card, but it was too late as Liverpool clinched a comfortable 3-0 win. In conclusion, it was a good match on both sides, but Liverpool's clinical play proved too much for Leicester. The win helped Liverpool climb up the Premier League table, while Leicester continued to lose points.
