Former Leeds coach Marcelo Bielsa has been appointed head coach of the Uruguayan national team.
The agreement between the parties is valid until the 2026 World Cup inclusive. The 67-year-old specialist replaced Diego Alonso, who failed to lead the Latin American team out of the group at the World Cup in Qatar.
It will be recalled that Bielsa has experience in the national teams of Argentina (1998-2004) and Chile (2007-2011).
