Man City v Real Madrid match review:
Manchester City proved too strong for Real Madrid in their UEFA Champions League match at the Etihad Stadium with a dominant 4-0 victory. The home side started with a resounding victory, scoring twice thanks to a Bernardo Silva goal, with goals in the 23rd and 37th minutes setting the tone for the entire match. In the second half, Real Madrid tried to get back into the game but failed to pose any real threat to Manchester City. Tensions boiled over when both sides received a flurry of yellow cards: Ruben Dias and Ilkay Gündogan received them for the hosts, while Daniel Carvajal and Eduardo Camavanga were cautioned for Real Madrid. In an attempt to turn the tide, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti made a double substitution in the 63rd minute, fielding A. Rüdiger and Modric.
However, this move did not bring any results as Manchester City continued to dominate. On 76 minutes, a goal by M. Akandja sealed the match as a contest, with Manchester City confidently taking a 3-0 lead. The home side then made a substitution, releasing R. Mahrez in place of Ilkay Gundogan, while Real Madrid introduced three substitutions - Lucas Vazquez, A. Chouameni and Dani Ceballos. Towards the end of the match, Manchester City added to their account with a goal from J. Alvarez in the 90th minute, effectively sealing their victory. Real Madrid's night was complicated by Jack Grealish receiving a warning in the final minutes of the match. Overall, it was a terrific performance from Manchester City, who proved too good for their opponents on the night. The team will undoubtedly be regarded as one of the favourites to win the UEFA Champions League this year, and performances like this only underline their quality.
