APL scandal: footballer suspended for 8 months over betting

Brentford forward Ivan Toney has been suspended for eight months for a betting offence. This has been announced by the English club's official website.

It is reported that now Toni will be able to return to the field no earlier than January 17, 2024. In addition, the player must pay a fine of £50,000.

It should be recalled that Toni has been accused of breaching the betting rules on 262 occasions. They refer to the period from February 2017 to January 2021, when the footballer played for Scanthorpe, Wigan and Peterborough.
