The president of Rivne's Veres Ivan Nadein commented on proposals from other clubs to expand the UPL to 20 teams.
- We are definitely not talking about that. Changes still need to start with ourselves if we want to make Ukrainian football market-based, transparent and self-sufficient. We can't go for such things. I would call it fraud. We sat down to play, and at the end of the game we say - let's change the rules a little bit. This is definitely wrong for all participants in the process. Those who are fighting for survival and those who are not.
There must be a sporting principle here. This is the foundation of football. Without compliance with the regulations, nothing will work. Just this year, the regulations have already been significantly violated once with a single TV pool. It specifies how many clubs are eliminated and how many remain. This principle must be preserved.
We are also fighting for survival, but we don't want the regulations to be raped. This must be stopped for sure and not even discussed," Nadein told Football TIME.
