Bordalas Jimenez also received a warning for Getafe in the 77th minute. In search of victory, Getafe made two substitutions in the 56th minute, releasing B. Majoral in place of Munir El Haddadi and Porto in place of D. Suarez. In the 69th minute, they also released C. Allen in place of G. Villar and G. Alvarez in place of J. Latas. Elche made a substitution in the 73rd minute, seeking to strengthen the attack: R. Nteka came on in place of P. Milla. They also made two more substitutions in the 79th minute, releasing Tete Morente in place of G. Verdu and Fidel in place of R. Guti. Despite the frenzied activity as both teams sought to take the lead, the score remained tied at 1-1, with Genet receiving a yellow card for Getafe in added time. In the end, both teams had to settle for a draw and each took a point. Although the result did not benefit either team, both will take positives from the game.
