UPL clubs have not accepted Setanta's offer of $6m per season

Some details of the meeting of representatives of UPL clubs regarding the broadcasting of Ukrainian championship matches have become known.

According to TaToTake, Setanta offered $6 million for the season 2023/2024 under the condition of maintaining or creating a single TV pool. This proposal did not find unanimous agreement from all clubs. In particular, Zorya owner Evgeny Geller spoke out against it, saying he was in favour of a TV pool but against having their matches broadcast on any external platform. At the same time, he was one of the most active fans of Shakhtar's idea to create their own OTT platform and implementation of TV rights by the clubs.

Representatives of the UPL clubs instructed the UPL management within 10 days to form and present a commercial proposal for a single television channel on the basis of their own OTT platform.

According to most of the representatives of the clubs, there is a collective, unanimous desire to move in a unified direction. However, almost everyone has a lot of questions about the implementation of this plan and the ability to meet the very tight deadline before the start of next season.
