In the much-anticipated La Liga match at the Stadio Benito Villamarín, Real Betis hosted Getafe, with both sides looking to take three points. A minute later Carles Alenha was replaced by Jorge Iglesias. In the 69th minute, Getafe finally managed to achieve the success they had been waiting for. Osvaldo Alderete received a pass from his teammate and shot past the Real Betis goalkeeper, giving Getafe the lead. Real Betis immediately made three substitutions in an attempt to equalise. Andres Guardado was replaced by Joaquin, Willian José came on in place of Rodri and Juanmi replaced Borja Iglesias. However, Betis' efforts were hampered by a red card to Herman Pezzella in the 78th minute. Real Betis were reduced to ten men but continued to push for a goal. Sergio Canales came on as a substitute in the 83rd minute and Aitor Ruibal was replaced by Pierre Acuoca. In the remaining minutes of the game, Dario Soria and Getafe's Porto received yellow cards and Getafe made one last substitution as Francisco Anguileri replaced Porto. Despite Real Betis' best efforts, they failed to equalise and the game ended 0-1 to Getafe. The visitors left the stadium with three vital points, while Real Betis were left to regret the missed opportunities.
