Ukraine's traitor and former midfielder Anatoliy Tymoschuk, who continues to work as a coach at Russia's Zenit, has been granted Romanian citizenship, TSN reported, citing the TV marathon Єdinі Novini.

Timoschuk was able to obtain a Romanian passport after he stated that his grandmother was born in 1929 in Chernivtsi, when that city was part of Romania.

However, there is every reason to believe that these data were falsified by the ex-football player: his ex-wife, as well as his neighbours, unanimously stated that Tymoschuk had no Romanian grandmother.

Let us remind you that Tymoschuk, who not only did not break the contract with his Russian employer after the start of Russia's war against Ukraine, but also did not voice his position regarding Russia's military aggression, was stripped of his PRO coaching license in Ukraine as well as all titles and awards. He is simply erased from the history of Ukrainian football. In addition, Tymoschuk was deprived of the title of honorary citizen of Lutsk, where he was born.

And in January this year by a decree of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski a number of sanctions were imposed on Tymoschuk. All of the ex-football player's assets in Ukraine were frozen for 10 years, he was not allowed to withdraw capital from Ukraine and acquire ownership of land plots. Finally, Tymoschuk is even banned from educational and sporting contacts.
