Sebastian Bornau soon added to the list of players receiving yellow cards in the 67th minute, giving Hertha Berlin a chance to consolidate their lead. T. Röhlke came on in place of F. Niederlechner in the 71st minute, making the last substitution of the match for Hertha Berlin. Wolfsburg made several late substitutions in an attempt to get back into the game: L. Waldschmidt replaced P. Wimmer in the 66th minute and C. Paredes replaced J. Kaminski in the same minute. In the 80th minute, D. Pejcinovic came on as a substitute for J. Gerhardt and Omar Marmusz replaced J. Vinda. In the 90th minute, Jean-Paul Boethius and Marko Richter received yellow cards for Hertha Berlin. It was a tough defeat for VfL Wolfsburg, who could not hold on to the lead, but Hertha Berlin deserved the win thanks to some impressive play in the second half. Both teams will be looking to improve in their next matches as they continue their fight for success in the Bundesliga.
