The Premier League match between Brentford and Manchester City at the Gtech Community Stadium ended in a 1-0 win for Brentford, with the only goal of the match being scored in a thrilling second half. Both teams started the game well, with Manchester City possessing the lion's share of the ball but failing to convert their chances. On the other hand, Brentford defended reliably and played with great energy and passion. The first yellow card of the game came in the 57th minute when Brentford player J. Wissa was suspended for foul play against a City player. A minute later, Brentford manager T. Frank was also shown a yellow card for protesting against the referee's decision. In the 63rd minute, Manchester City made the first substitution of the match, releasing N. Ake in place of S. Charles. This change seemed to give City a little more life, but they still could not find a breakthrough.
Brentford made their first substitution in the 70th minute with M. Damsgaard replacing K. Schade. A few seconds later, the second substitution was made: A. Hickey replaced J. Dasilva. 77 minutes into the match, Brentford's V Janelt was given a yellow card for a foul on a City player. In the 82nd minute, Brentford made a third substitution: F. Onyeka was replaced by S. Baptista. Just a few minutes later, Brentford's Zanka was given a yellow card for an untimely attack by a City player. However, it was Brentford who laughed until the last minute: in the 86th minute, E. Pinnock scored to put his team ahead. Brentford made two final substitutions in the last few minutes of the game, releasing M. Rohrslev Rasmussen in place of J. Wiss in the 89th minute and S. Goddos in place of B. Mbeumo in the 90th minute. Brentford ended up with a famous victory, thanks to solid defence and a late goal securing all three points. Manchester City, on the other hand, were left regretting their missed chances and will have to regroup for the next match.
