Despite Leeds making a few attempts to level the score, it remained 1-0 in favour of Tottenham at the break. In the second half, Leeds came back into the game. However, Tottenham continued to dominate and increased their lead in the 47th minute thanks to a Pablo Porro goal. Leeds tried to get back into the game but Tottenham's defence was resolute and prevented the hosts from scoring. In the 67th minute, Tottenham made a substitution that saw Domenico Kulusevski come on in place of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. However, Leeds scored next - Jack Harrison in the 67th minute.
Leeds fans were hoping for a comeback, but Harry Kane had other ideas and in the 69th minute he scored another goal for Tottenham, restoring a two goal lead. Tottenham made two more substitutions in the 76th and 77th minutes, with Son Heung-Min coming on in place of Richarlison and Yves Bissouma replacing Matt Craig. Leeds also made two substitutions in the 88th minute when Jack Harrison was replaced by Wilco Gnonto. Tottenham made three more substitutions in added time when Oliver Skipp came on in place of Gary Abbott, Pablo Porro was replaced by Lucas Moura and there was a final manager's substitution of Bissoum in place of Craig. Tottenham must have been relieved when Lucas Moura scored in the 90th minute to seal their team's victory. Although Leeds put up stubborn resistance, it was Tottenham's clinical play that was the deciding factor in the encounter between the two teams. Victory for Tottenham brought them one step closer to their main goal for the season - to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League. Leeds, on the other hand, need to regroup and change strategy before the next Premier League game to improve their position.
