On 28 May, one of the matches of the 37th round of the Italian football championship took place. Lazio (Rome) and Cremonese (Italy) met.

In a thrilling Serie A match at the Stadio Olimpico, Lazio managed to hold on to their lead over the Cremonese counter. Lazio were 2-0 up at half-time but Cremonese put up a stiff challenge in the second half and the game was tight until the end. The final score was 3-2 in Lazio's favour, much to the delight of their home fans. The match got off to a flying start for Lazio, with E. Hisaj scoring the opening goal just 4 minutes into the game. The Cremonese defence was caught off guard and Hisaj made no mistake with his shot. Lazio continued to dominate the match and their efforts paid off when S. Milinkovic-Savic scored a stunning goal in the 37th minute, doubling their lead. Cremonese tried to bounce back and came close in the 54th minute when P. Galdames scored the first goal. However, their hopes of getting back to winning ways were dashed after just four minutes when M. Lazzari sent the ball into his own net, giving Lazio a 3-1 lead. The Cremonese made their first substitution in the 59th minute when D. Ciofani replaced C. Buonaiuto.
In the second half, the game became heated: Lazio's M. Zaccagni was yellow carded in the 72nd minute and Cremonese's P. Galdames was yellow carded in the 67th minute. Cremonese made two more substitutions in the 69th minute when they brought on E. Valeri and G. Quagliata and one more substitution in the 78th minute when L. Lochoshvili replaced G. Vazquez. Lazio also made two substitutions in the second half: Pedro replaced Felipe Anderson in the 60th minute and E. Hisage gave way to L. Pellegrini in the 80th minute. L. Pellegrini was shown the yellow card in the 81st minute. Lazio kept the lead until the 89th minute when S. Milinkovic-Savic struck again, scoring his second goal of the match. In the last minute of the match, Lazio coach M. Sarri made two more substitutions, releasing Luis Alberto and T. Basic and S. Radu in place of M. Zacchagna. However, shortly before the end of the game, M. Sarri received a red card. It was a thrilling match in which Lazio took the lead. Cremona fought hard but ultimately failed to convert. Thanks to their strong play, Lazio strengthened their position in the Serie A table, aiming for a higher finish this season.
