Dynamo U-19 head coach Ihor Kostiuk defeated Veres U-19 (4-0) in the 29th round of the Ukrainian Youth Championship.
- We asked the boys to play faster, but we were unable to use the flanks until we scored. And the first goal, as you saw, was a cross from the flank. This goal gave us confidence, and in the second half we managed to increase the score and bring the match to a logical victory. We had the advantage throughout the match, so the result is natural.
- There were a lot of substitutions today. Did you want to give all the guys a chance to play?
- Yes, we did. In addition, Tsarenko, Yatsyk and Malysh are travelling to Rivne with the first team, and in such games, when there is an opportunity to give players game practice, we use it.
- Does Matkevych often have such free-kicks in training?
- You saw that in the first half we had a lot of free kicks, but we couldn't hit the frame. Andriy is a regular performer of standard positions, the same corners, and I'm glad that today he scored from the penalty spot.
- Were you surprised by Filatov's scoring ability, as he scored a goal and then could have made a double?
- Why not? He intercepted the ball, joined the attack - and did everything right in terms of pace. We know many examples when, after intercepting the ball, the team runs out to attack, and if the defender is well positioned and keeps up with the attack, why can't he finish it with an accurate shot?
