The match started with an evenly matched encounter between the two teams, with each side hitting the goal line in the first half. As early as the 2nd minute, Osasuna's K. Avila scored the first goal of the match. However, this did not dampen Getafe's ardour, which continued to go forward and was rewarded on the 39th minute with a goal scored by J. Latasa, who levelled the score. At the start of the second half, both teams were determined to take the lead. In the 54th minute, Getafe player N. Maksimovic got a yellow card. It was obvious that the tension on the pitch was high, with both teams fighting aggressively. The first substitution of the game came in the 68th minute when Abde from Osasuna was replaced by K. Barju.
This was followed by two substitutions in the 77th minute from Getafe: Porto were replaced by Munir El Haddadi and L. Milla came on in place of G. Villar. Osasuna responded with three substitutions of their own: R. Garcia replaced J. Moncaiola, C. Avila was replaced by C. Garcia and P. Ibañez came on instead of I. Muñoz. In the 81st minute, Getafe's Djene was shown a yellow card, once again indicating the high intensity of the match. Despite this, both teams kept going forward until the 90th minute, when Getafe's J. Mata scored the last goal of the match, securing a 2-1 victory for his team. Overall, it was a fantastic match with highs and lows for both teams. Getafe's win improved their position in La Liga, but there is still a long way to go until the end of the season.
