The Premier League match between Metalist Kharkiv and Minay, held at the Metalist Regional Sports Complex stadium, was a story of two halves. With the score 1-0 in favour of Kharkiv Metal at half-time the home team controlled the game. However, in the second half Minay managed to get back into the game and grabbed a 2-1 win. The first half was tightly fought with both teams having chances on equal terms. The first yellow card in the match came on 15 minutes, when Minaya player B. Chuev was sent off. In the 23rd minute, A. Chidomir from Metalist Kharkiv got his yellow card. However, it was Metal Kharkiv who drew first blood, scoring a goal in the 36th minute from Yu. Demchenko, putting the hosts ahead. Minay quickly responded by making the first substitution on 40 minutes: M. Gechev came on instead of B. Chuev. The second half was more tightly fought, both teams were struggling to control the situation. At the beginning of the second half, Minay made two more substitutions: I. Gonchar and T. Dmytruk instead of B. Chuev and I. Gonchar respectively.
Metal Kharkiv Metal also made two substitutions at the beginning of the second half: K.Vlakh and I.Chaikovskyi were replaced by V.Naumets and S.Valencio. Valencio. This substitution proved to be fruitful for Minaya who equalised on 61 minutes thanks to a goal from O. Vishnevski. In the 71st minute, Minaya`s player M. Gechev was given a yellow card, and then Metalist`s player S. Valencio got another one. On 72 minutes, Metalist made two more substitutions: Demchenko and Synchuk were replaced with Bagachanskyi and Ryazantsev respectively. However, in the 75th minute, Minay took the lead after a penalty kick was awarded to R. Palamar. Minay players D. Nemchaninov and A. Bouleza were awarded yellow cards on 80th and 84th minute respectively. Metal Kharkiv tried to level the score in the final minutes of the game, making the last substitution in the 87th minute, when S. Valencio was replaced by D. Kaidalov. However, Minay held on to their advantage and clinched a hard-fought victory.
