As previously reported, the new head coach of Veresa Rivne may be Ostap Markevych, son of famous Ukrainian coach Myron Markevych.
According to the authoritative Transfermarkt portal, Markevych Jr. is a client of Prostar agent Vadim Shablia, who is likely to get the opportunity to fully staff Veres after the appointment of Markevych Jr.
It all reminds the sad story of Mariupol, which won 2 games out of 18, when Ostap Markevych was the head coach of that team, and the majority of players, according to unofficial information, came to the club with the patronage of Shabliah's agency.
Already now fans in Veres telegram channels are expressing their indignation at such a development. At one time Markevych Jr. was dismissed from "Agrobusiness", then from the "Chernomorets". And the first part of last season in the UPL Mariupol finished in the last place in the standings. From his last club in the Polish Third League he was also dismissed - the performances were clearly not the best
Along with the clearly unsatisfactory results in the career of the potentially new head coach of "Veres", there is also great concern among fans about the possible cooperation of the "People's Club" with the company, which, despite the war in Ukraine, continues to operate in the Russian market, working including with Russian players (according to the same Transfermarkt).
Veres fans have logical fears that this could indeed work against the club's image, especially given that the club positions itself on the patriotic side.
But the decisive word rests with the club's president Ivan Nadyeyin, who seems to believe in the coaching talent of Markevich Jr.
Once upon a time Veres promised to involve fans in the most important issues of the club. But not this time: apparently, the final decision is almost made, but no one and nowhere have seen discussions of the club and fans in this regard.
