The Surkis Brothers Foundation and FC Dynamo (Kyiv) together with the NGO League of Life organised a holiday for Ukrainian children. Children of the fallen heroes of the 130th TRO Battalion, orphans and children deprived of parental care from boarding schools, large families, low-income families, and children of military personnel from Bakhmut, Lyman, Kharkiv region, and Kramatorsk came to visit the club.
An eventful programme was organised for the children - after a tour of the Dynamo Stadium, the guests of the event met with the players of the White and Blues, Oleksandr Syrota and Vladislav Kabaev. Having received gifts from Dynamo players and UEFA Honorary Member Hryhoriy Surkis, the children had the opportunity to talk to the players, take memorable photos and enjoy sweet treats.
"Our children should not have expected this horror. A nightmare unleashed by people who have no humanity, honour or morality. They are destroying our cities, they are destroying our hopes for the best. And the best is our children.
Of course, we must do everything possible today to make sure that children are a breath of fresh air in the midst of such a terrible tragedy for our country. Perhaps, today they are a breath of fresh air, because they are in the structure of Dynamo Kyiv, at the Dynamo Stadium. It is very painful that such a tragedy happened, of course.
We were unlucky with the weather today and we are indoors, not on the football field. We will do everything in our power to ensure that our children have this breath of fresh air and a smile on their faces. That's why today all our congratulations, gifts and the arrival of our players are for them. We are happy that we can do something to make the lives of children and their parents easier," said Grigory Surkis.
At the end of the event, Dynamo guests had an unforgettable meeting with the Magic Five team of bloggers and illusionists, who put on a real show for the children.
Artem Tatarinov, Executive Director of the Dzherelo Children's and Youth Centre, whose children attended the event, shared his impressions of the event.
- "We are glad to come to such an event. We accept children from all the occupied and de-occupied territories of Ukraine for 14 days absolutely free of charge. They will remember the war for the rest of their lives, and we are doing our best to give them positive emotions here. They come to us with a lot of stress, but later the children start to communicate more. We do everything in our power to help them.
Our staff suggested the idea of coming to visit you. "Dynamo Kyiv is a brand. The children were very happy when they found out that we were coming to you. We fulfil all their wishes so that they don't have a free minute," Tatarinov concluded.
