In a thrilling football match between Auxerre and Lens at the Stade de l'Abbaye Deschamps in Ligue 1, the visitors won, beating the home side 3-1. In the first half, Lens took the lead in the 19th minute when A. Claude-Maurice scored an excellent goal. Although Auxerre tried to fight back, they were unable to get past the Lens defence before the end of the first half, leaving the score 0-1 in favour of Lens. Auxerre started the second half with two quick substitutions, releasing N. Da Costa and A. Zedadka. However, this did not stop Lens from doubling their lead with just two minutes left in the second half, scoring another goal from A. Claude-Maurice. Despite falling behind by two goals, Auxerre continued to fight back and scored their first goal in the 71st minute thanks to a goal from M. Niang. However, their hopes of a comeback were short-lived as Lens replied just seven minutes later with a goal from L. Openda.
In the 74th minute, Lens also had a goal cancelled due to offside, and in the 90th minute, the same fate befell Auxerre. The match ended 3-1 in favour of Lens, who showed great strength both in attack and defense. The match was not without yellow cards: S. Abdul Samed, Jubal and M. Haidara got them for Lens at the 6th, 27th and 69th minutes respectively. The Lens defence was also cautioned in the 83rd minute when J. Gradit received a yellow card. Auxerre made three more substitutions during the game, releasing G. Heyn, G. Perrin and G. Massengo in the 56th, 57th and 72nd minutes respectively. Lens also made three more substitutions: A. Fulgini, C. Danso and W. Said came on in place of A. Claude-Maurice, F. Sotoki and J. Onan in the 65th minute. In the 79th minute, A. Buxa and J. Le Cardinal replaced L. Openda and D. Machado. The match was a fantastic spectacle, with both teams giving it their all. However, in the end, Lens were victorious and won all three points.
