Both teams showed high intensity throughout the match, with several players being suspended. In the 42nd minute, Stade Brestois 29 player H. Magnetti and Rennes player A. Guiry received yellow cards. P. Lis-Melou of Stade Brestois 29 also received a yellow card shortly before the break, in the 45th minute. Rennes players B. Mehling, Bourigo and D. Alemdar were also sent off in the 82nd, 85th and 90th minutes respectively. In the end, despite the valiant efforts of the Stade Brestois 29 team, Rennes emerged victorious with 1-2 in their favour.
