Manchester City head coach Josep Guardiola has commented on the situation with midfielder Ilkay Gundogan's contract, which expires in the summer.
"Gundogan understands what I think about his contract. You may know this, but we are neighbours and live next door. We have been friends for many years. He is playing well, and the club director is working on his contract. This season has been exceptional for Gundogan," ESPN quoted Pep as saying.
It will be recalled that Gundogan's double brought the Citizens a 2-1 victory over Manchester United in the FA Cup final.
