The English striker came on as a substitute in the middle of the second half, but soon suffered an injury that prevented him from leaving the field on his own. According to Corriere dello Sport, examinations carried out on Monday revealed that the 25-year-old footballer had a severe anterior cruciate ligament injury to his left knee.

It is expected that Abraham will miss up to nine months and will not be able to return to the field until March 2024.

It will be recalled that Everton, Aston Villa, Chelsea and Manchester United were interested in the forward's services.
