The event of the century. Seleznyov's farewell match takes place

Today, the Avangard stadium in Uzhhorod hosted a farewell match of the legendary forward in the history of world football, Yevhen Seleznyov.

According to Tribuna, the participants of this grand encounter were divided into two teams - orange and blue, white and blue (to match the colours of Shakhtar and Dnipro, the clubs for which Seleznyov had previously played).

The meeting, which will undoubtedly become the main event of the 21st century, ended with the scoreline at 8-8, with the Orange winning in the penalty shoot-out. Seleznyov converted the decisive 11 penalty spot-kick. The Ukrainian, who turns 38 on 20 July, played for both sides in regulation time, scoring five goals. Seleznyov's son also took part in the match.

Adrian Pukanych netted his hat-trick, Mykola Shaparenko and Artem Fedetskiy also scored double. Vitaliy Buyalskiy also scored a goal.

The match featured representatives of three football generations - Darijo Srna, Yaroslav Rakitskiy, Artem Dovbik, Oleksandr Aliyev, Andriy Yarmolenko, Artem Milevskiy, Mykola Shaparenko, Heorhiy Buschan, Myron Markevych, Oleksandr Rybka, Yevhen Khacheridi, Ruslan Rotan, Serhiy Nagornyak, Oleksandr Nazarenko and others.

In addition, military players also took to the pitch. In particular, David Kasatkin, the commander of the international battalion Titan Igor Yankey Noman, fighter pilot Vadim Voroshilov, deputy commander of the 3rd separate assault brigade Rodion Ridik Kudryashov and representatives of the 128th separate brigade.

It should be added that the match was also of a charitable nature - all proceeds will be donated to the Nezlamna Ukraina Foundation, and the amount and the report will be made publicly available.

That completes the legend's career. Well, we have to admit that the world of football is orphaned without such a phenomenal footballer, who not only with his talent, but also his skilful phrasing eclipsed the glory of all the legends - from Pele to Messi.
