The Ukrainian national team arrived in Bremen

The Ukrainian national team arrived in Bremen on Thursday, 8 June, where it will prepare for a friendly match against Germany (12 June) and Euro 2024 qualifiers against North Macedonia (16 June) and Malta (19 June).

Traditionally, when travelling to Europe in wartime, the Blue and Yellows started their journey to the training camp the evening before, boarding a train at the capital's railway station.

Before departure, the head coach of the Ukrainian national team Serhii Rebrov and the national team players met with the players of the children's team of Lokomotiv Kyiv in the children's room of the Central Station terminal. The boys had the opportunity to ask questions to those they aspire to be like. Most of all, the children were interested in the answers of Artem Dovbyk, the UPL's top scorer. There were also questions to Mykola Matvienko, Ilya Zabarnyi, Heorhii Bushchan, Yukhym Konoplya and others. By the way, the questions were entirely on topic: what is the difference between training in England and Ukraine, which club was the hardest to play against, at what age did you decide to become a professional player...

After a joint photo and autograph session, the players went directly to the Ukrzaliznytsia train. Players of Ukrainian clubs, as well as English defender Ilya Zabarnyi, who managed not only to visit home but also to change his social status after the end of the club season, left Kyiv for Chłomo.

This morning, the national team travelled from Kholm by bus to Frederic Chopin Airport in Warsaw, and from there flew to the first place of deployment during the June training camp - Bremen.

In the Polish capital, the group was joined by two legionnaires - the newly crowned Polish champion Vladyslav Kochergin from Raków Czestochowa and Vitaliy Mykolenko from Everton. The rest of the players playing in foreign championships will arrive directly in Bremen.

The blue and yellows arrived in Germany at 15.30 local time. Given the long and exhausting journey, the coaching staff decided to hold a stretching session at the hotel today to recover. The first training session under the leadership of the new coach Serhii Rebrov will take place tomorrow at the football centre of Werder Bremen.
