German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen and forward Timo Werner will miss their national team's upcoming friendly against Ukraine.
It is reported that German head coach Hans-Dieter Flick has decided to use Kevin Trapp of Eintracht Frankfurt for the match against Ukraine. This is due to the fact that ter Stegen arrived at the national team's training camp only on Friday evening.
Trapp himself has already confirmed that it is indeed he who will be in the squad: "The coach has informed me that I will play against Ukraine. I'm happy to show my worth. I think I'll be on the pitch for the whole match. I really want to prove myself".
It is also known that RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner will not be playing for Serhiy Rebrov's team. The 27-year-old arrived at the location of his national team with an injury and has been training individually these days. Today he will also work separately from the team.
Kaj Havertz of Chelsea London and Niklas Fühlkrug of Werder Bremen can replace Werner.
