"Kovalenko's La Spezia is relegated from Serie A

Italian La Spezia, which is defended by Ukrainian midfielder Viktor Kovalenko, failed to retain its place in Serie A following the 2022/23 season.

Finding oneself in the zone of juggernaut matches (the 17th position in the final Serie A standings) for the right to stay in the top division, La Spezia yielded 1:3 to Verona and flew to Serie B.

It should be added that Kovalenko came on as a substitute in the decisive match for his team on 65 minutes of the meeting, but failed to produce any result. In total, the Ukrainian took part in 20 La Spezia matches, appearing in the starting line-up only 8 times. Kovalenko did not manage to add any goals or assists.
