Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe has defended his former teammate Lionel Messi, who defended the Parisians' colours from 2021 to 2023.
- We are talking about potentially the best player in the history of football. When players of Messi's calibre leave the team, it is hardly good news. Personally, I don't understand why most people breathed a sigh of relief after Lionel's departure.
Messi needs to be respected, but he didn't get that respect in France. It's a shame that everything happened this way. I will try my best to replace him with dignity," said Kylian Mbappe.
As a reminder, Lionel Messi left PSG and joined Inter Miami as a free agent.
