"Skoruk will officially miss the 2023/24 season in the First League. The club will not play next season due to the undermining of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station by the Russian occupiers and the disappearance of water for agricultural and household needs in the Nikopol district.
"FC Skoruk is an agricultural team financed by the family of the club's president, Maksym Anatoliyovych Skoruk, and due to the undermining of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station by the racists, the land plots of the Nikopol region were left without water supply and irrigation, as a result of which the club's owner suffers heavy losses every day. The club's management tried to resolve the issue of further funding for the upcoming season until the last moment, but unfortunately, in the current situation, all attempts were unsuccessful. In order to ensure that FC Skoruk does not disappear completely, the club's management has decided to skip the 2023/24 season in the PFL First League.
In the 2023/24 season, FC Skoruk will be left without an adult team, but the Skoruk Children's and Youth Football School will continue to operate, with the entire coaching and administrative staff remaining. This year, the Skoruk Children's and Youth Football School will play in two age categories at the level of the DUFLU (Ukrainian Championship) and DUFLDO (Dnipropetrovska Oblast Championship)."
For their part, the club's management will do everything to return to the professional level in the 2024/25 season. "We are not saying goodbye, we are saying goodbye so that we can come back stronger in a year, because in order to jump forward, you have to run and step back," reads the official statement of FC Skoruk.
